List of Sputtering Targets for Glass Coating
views, Updated: 2021-09-15
The application of glass coating sputtering target in the glass industry is mainly to make low radiation coated glass. Furthermore, to use the principle of magnetron sputtering to sputter multi-layer film on glass to achieve the role of energy-saving, light control, and decoration.
Low radiation coated glass is also known as energy-saving glass. In recent years, with the increase of energy conservation and emission reduction, and improved quality of life, the traditional building glass is gradually replaced by energy-saving glass. It is driven by this market demand that almost all large glass deep-processing enterprises are rapidly increasing the production line of coated glass.
Correspondingly, the demand for target materials for glass coating is increasing rapidly. The sputtering target materials for glass coating mainly include silver sputtering target, chromium sputtering target, titanium sputtering target, nickel chromium sputtering target, zinc tin sputtering target, silicon aluminum sputtering target, titanium oxide sputtering target. Further details are as follows:
Silver Sputtering Target
Silver is a soft, lustrous element that belongs to the metals' transition group on the periodic table. It has a melting point of 962 ℃, a density of 10.5 g/cc, and vapor pressure of 10-4 Torr at 1,105 ℃. Silver has been used since ancient times in countless products. It is ductile, malleable, and the most electrically conductive of all metals. It is considered a precious metal and can be found in jewelry, solders, paints, and mirrors. It is evaporated under vacuum to produce semiconductors, sensors, fuel cells, and optical coatings.
Chromium Sputtering Target
Chromium sputtering targets are widely used in hardware tool coating, decorative coating, and flat display coating. Hardware coating is used in various mechanical and metallurgical applications such as robot tools, turning tools, molds (casting, stamping). The film's thickness is generally 2~10um, and it requires high hardness, low wear, impact resistance, and resistance with thermal shock and high adhesion property. Now, chromium sputtering targets are commonly applied in the glass coating industry. The most important application is the preparation of automotive rearview mirrors. With the increasing requirements of automotive rearview mirrors, many companies have switched from the original aluminizing process to the vacuum sputtering chromium process.
Titanium Sputtering Target
Titanium sputtering targets are commonly used in hardware tool coating, decorative coating, semiconductor components, and flat display coating. It is one of the core materials for preparing integrated circuits, and the required purity is usually over 99.99%.
Nickel Chromium Sputtering Target
Nickel chromium sputtering target is widely used in the production of sponge nickel and decorative coating areas. It can form a decorative coating on ceramic surfaces or a solder layer in-circuit device fabrication when evaporated in a vacuum.
Zinc Tin Sputtering Target
The research describes the electrolytic deposition of Zn, Sn, and Zn/Sn alloys from a metal chloride salts solution separately in Urea and Ethylene glycol/choline chloride-based ionic liquids. It shows that the deposition kinetics and thermodynamics differ from the aqueous processes and that qualitatively different phases, compositions, and morphologies are obtained for the metal coatings in the other ionic liquid systems.
Silicon Aluminum Sputtering Target
Silicon aluminum sputtering target can be applied in semiconductor, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD) display.
Titanium Dioxide Sputtering Target
Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium(IV) oxide or titania, is the naturally occurring titanium oxide, chemical formula TiO2. When used as a pigment, it is called titanium white, pigment white 6 (PW6), or CI 77891. Generally, it is sourced from ilmenite, rutile, and anatase. It has a wide range of applications, from paint to sunscreen to food coloring.
Another important application of the glass's target material is to prepare an automobile rearview mirror, mainly including chromium target, aluminum target, titanium oxide target. With the continuous improvement of automotive rearview mirror quality requirements, many enterprises have changed from the original aluminum plating process to the vacuum sputtering chromium plating process.
AEM Deposition, as a sputtering target manufacturer, we provide not only sputtering targets for glass but also sputtering targets for other fields. Such as pure metal sputtering target, alloy sputtering target, ceramic oxide sputtering target and so on. Further details are as follows:
